Ada Andrist, LCPC is a practicing therapist serving the needs of adolescents and families. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois. Ms. Andrist holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a Certificate in Child and Family Therapy. She is an Intensively Trained DBT therapist, having attended multiple training courses throughout United States. She is the founder and leader of a DBT Consultation Team.
Ada has a caring but direct approach in therapy. She has a sense of humor, a determination to help, and in her free time pursues continuing education relentlessly.
Ms. Andrist has been teaching DBT skills to adolescents since 2007. She spearheaded the development of a DBT inpatient program at a local pediatric psychiatric hospital, and currently oversees the entire program. She and Dr. Weller worked together in this setting and program. Ms. Andrist has worked extensively with adolescents who self-injure and have active and past suicidal thoughts and attempts, as well has behavioral issues and histories of trauma. She has worked in outpatient practices with adolescents and their families, dealing with issues of conflict and change. She has participated in research of a DBT inpatient program with members of (Chicago) Loyola University’s Psychology Department.
Ms. Andrist speaks to groups on topics such as Self-Injury, and DBT with Adolescents. Along with her husband, she has raised two children. She currently enjoys being a grandmother. Ms. Andrist looks forward to helping you reach your goals and creating the kind of life you have envisioned.
